RE-ATTEMPT

Recently, my brother had some issues with a CBT exam he was taking. His laptop went off ever so randomly in the middle of the exam. It hadn’t happened before, so it was very unexpected. As a result, the questions he had answered were graded, and he had barely gone halfway through the exam.

My brother searched for the teacher to explain his plight, but he couldn’t find him till the school day was over. The next day, he was able to find the teacher, but the teacher refused to allow him to retake the exam. My brother tried explaining what had happened, but his teacher wasn’t changing his mind. My brother, being my brother and unwilling to be stressed or frustrated by anyone, stopped pleading with his teacher and decided to let it go.

When my mom found out what had transpired between him and his teacher, my mom, being my mom and absolutely averse to nonchalance and giving up, gave my brother a piece of her mind. When my parents were done with him (my mum had tabled the matter before the entire family), the following day found him on his way to his teacher.

After preps from different angles on how to present his case, my brother was able to convince his teacher to let him retake the exam! After he retook it, he got sixteen extra marks!

In life, we find it very easy to back off after our first attempt. But we forget that the first attempt isn’t always the best attempt. We might not always have people around us to prompt us to make more attempts, but we must possess a drive from within to keep on trying till we get our desired results.

In the words of J.M. Storm, "Magic happens when you don’t give up even though you want to. The universe always falls in love with a stubborn heart."

It is time to re-attempt!
